HISTORY

The Pine Creek Valley

Pine Creek is the largest "creek" in the United States. It was named for the many pine trees that lined the banks of the water. The Iroquois called Pine Creek "Tiadaghton", which means "The River of Pines" or "The Lost or Bewildered River." Pine Creek flows through the heart of Potter and Tioga counties, offering visitors many unique outdoor opportunities to experience the cool waters.
